Food trucks seem to be on the rise. We had to get a piece of the action. Adventure ensued;

We began the morning with Sushi Diner for breakfast. (No, not a food truck :P)
 I feel inspired to see small restaurant businesses. It really is a lot of work, so you know that the owners really have to have a passion for it to start it up and keep it afloat.
Maybe one day...
Sort-of watched a cheesy 80's surf-flick. The diner is tiny, and the guy behind the sushi bar was a real nice guy. It has a really great atmosphere. Lot's of rasta love up in that place. They had tons of little photo albums of workers, patrons etc. that was really charming to look at while we waited for our rolls.

The Bruce Lee roll; crab, cucumbers, avocado, salmon, eel, and ponzu.
The Ninja Chicken roll; spicy crab, calamari, yellowtail, salmon.
It was so scrumptious I forgot to photograph before we ate.
Hands down one of the best rolls I've ever had.

Talia and I felt pretty daring enough to try the Mackerel Nigiri and did not regret it. Talia says it had really complicated flavors and a pleasantly fishy finish. Is it me or does that ginger look like an orchid?
Mmm, fried caramari. :P
After making every wrong turn possible, we came to our first food truck destination--KalbiQ.
Matt's pork taco. I didn't try it, so I'll update with his review later.
These were the pork fries, a neat take on "Carne Asada Fries" I would assume.
I'm not gona lie, the "hot sauce" on the side was basically watered down Tapatio. They also used shredded cheese (that I had to unfortunately fork around) and Talia commented that it was sort of store bought, grainy cheddar-- so do without.
Now, I'm going to challenge any reader to compare these fries to McDonalds (barf) fries and tell me they are the sh*t. I will fight you if you disagree. You've never had fries like these. Imagine starchy tempura, wait, don't imagine it, just try it yourself. On me.
Totally came across this truck by chance. We immediately parked in the red zone and went to check it out.
The Super Q Pork and Chicken slider...without the caramelized onions. Wah wah wahhhh. Tasty nonetheless. At this point, I think we were too stuffed to savor too much...
It was interesting to find that the San Diego food trucks seem to convene primarily around northern San Diego and only around offices/ businesses.
You could always look them up and add them on Facebook/ Twitter. I wouldn't bother though, just visit the pages when you need to. Unless that's how you do biz.
